- Winner of the inaugural ICA/SF Symposium on Music in the 21st Century 2009 International Composition Competition. From 142 entries, the ICA/SF Symposium selected seven ensemble works. These works performed at the Symposium by the Adorno Ensemble, the Afiara String Quartet, and San Francisco State performance faculty. The selected composers reside in California, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Three of the composers are American, the others are from Turkey, Israel, and China.
